the vga works in safe mode. I have called nvidia about it they did all they could. Graphics work fine in "safe mode" just not on boot. My graphics card is the AMD radeon hd 7770 and I have a Benq GL2250 and a Samsung S22B150. You should see two squares with numbers "1" and "2" in them. If the computer switched off while booting, it would reboot.
