Previously it was from the point "39 to 37 mins remaining" but now it runs till 34 mins remaining and restarts. But since it will not recognize the drive it cannot boot from disc. But if you are having this issue with an installation and can temporarily put back your old system, this is a good place to start to try to fix things. Type in the path E:\$WIN_NT$~LS\I386 is already loaded by default but nothing happens .

Probably there is some communication problem between the cd-rom drive and the cpu and so if you click'ok' button WHILE the cd but is spinning, it is able to pick up or Like ULTRASOLVE suggested: run a separate install of i386 from c :\windows\i386 (after copying it from my CD XPpro/SP2 this time) (PS: could anyone instruct me how to do this, I had spent about a whole day trying to figure out why this damn Windows XP Home kept giving me the ASMS error.
